Books like Sookie Stackhouse Series Set

This is my favorite book series to date. I absolutely loved the story in each of these novels and I wish it could continue... I felt like I was acquainted with every character that was introduced and I loved the level of description in each novel. Books #1-10 really piqued my interest and I very much enjoyed them. Books #11-12 were a disappointment to me; they felt rushed and half-done just in an effort to finish the series and make readers happy (Don't even get me started on book #13). Though I thoroughly detested the end of the series and who Sookie ended up choosing and why, I still appreciate everything that brought her to that point. I've read the series four times and it still entertains me each time I pick up these books. It probably sounds stupid, but they're books that I feel like I can trust to get lost in and find an escape from reality for a while. I did not enjoy any of Harris' other novels, but I adore these.
