Books like Night of the Beasts, Vol. 1

Sometimes a book or manga falls into your lap that makes your emotions conflicted after reading it. You enjoyed your reading experience but you feel like there's just a few things missing that would've made it one of your favourites. But you don't forget you still enjoyed it. Night of the Beasts is one of those manga series that has me conflicted in a good, so let's talk about it:..What did I like about Night of the Beasts? Well I think the story was pretty good, dialogue also had some amazing writing at times, and it took an interesting turn that I wasn't expecting at all. The main characters were very well written—the villain was also! I really liked all three of them and a few of the side characters were also interesting. I love the artwork, Chika Shiomi's style is very appealing to me and gorgeous...Why am I conflicted? Well, even though the story was very good it felt very rushed at points. Important events that would've genuinely surprised me like in the first couple of volumes became predictable and forced later on. This does happen with some short manga series (Night of the Beasts is only 6 volumes long) for reasons only the author knows. I think if there were more volumes in the series, then the story would've had a more stable pace and some ideas may have been better executed...Regardless I still enjoyed reading it. Night of the Beasts was a very quick read and I'm glad I gave it a chance. I recommend it if you want to read something fast and knockdown your reading challenges.3/5⭐️
