Books like Amish Country Crossroads

This series was just okay - I really enjoy just reading a good love story and lately I've really gotten into Amish fiction. I checked this out from the library because I had heard that if you read Amish fiction you HAD to read Beverley Lewis because she was the best. Reading some of the other reader's comments, I'm sorry that this was the one I picked up, because apparently this isn't her best work. Honestly, while I enjoyed the storyline and liked the characters very much, I did not like the added spookiness that came from people being chosen as healers. I don't enjoy scary movies and I don't like to hear about devil stuff, and this just took me there. It kept me awake at night, and that's just not what I'm looking for in fiction. I thought I was getting into a love story - instead, I was getting into something more serious. And while I appreciate the efforts and am glad to say that this was well-written, it just wasn't for me. I'll probably hesitate before I grab another Bethany Lewis. If someone would like to reply with another suggestion by this author that would be more my speed, I would be very open to hearing it.
