Books like 나 혼자만 레벨 업 14 (외전) [Solo Leveling] Novel

I haven't ever really tried getting into light novels before but I enjoy the manhwa version of this so I thought I'd give it a crack. I found it to be a really easy to read series. I enjoyed the fact this didn't do the typical isekai-style transported-to-a-new-world thing that a lot of manga story arcs do and that instead, the world itself changed the MC has to adapt. It's very YA, RPG gamey/magic set in the real world which is fun.As a MC, Sung Jin-Woo is delightfully consistent throughout the series and makes interesting choices that are consistent to his character. He focuses on family and becoming strong to protect them and that's pretty much it.Interestingly, and I'm not sure if this is in response to the overall theme and title of the series, but most supporting side characters come and go and become obsolete as he levels up (excluding a couple of main supporting char). Also, I'm not sure if this was a translation thing but there's a heck of a lot of people "swallowing their saliva" and dealing with "dry saliva" in these books. It was comical how many times that specific phrase came up. Over all I enjoyed it and I was done with the 243 ch in about a week.
