Livvy

2014Lori L. Otto

5/5

Updated with Full Review - ARC ReviewThis is the last book of the Choisie Series and I love it so much. Lori Otto's writing style is always so beautiful and that's why she is one of my favorite authors. She makes you feel so connected to all her characters and you experience her stories as your own.Lori L. Otto introduce us to Livvy when she is a little girl in her first series and in Choisie we meet Livvy as a teenage girl. She has loving and protective parents that encourage her to grow as a person every day. She is still a young girl but she has grown up so much in the last years and she is still learning. Livvy finds herself in a phase of her life when she has to make decisions about her future on her own for the first time and even though she has her loved ones standing by her, the decisions she is making are hers alone. She is going on dates and meeting new people but she is still thinking about Jon. You will find out if they will meet again and get together or if their story is finally over. It is amazing to experience all these new things with Livvy, collage life, new friends, dates, a new side of her relationship with her parents and living alone away from home. She will meet good and bad people and she will learn how to distinguish between the two. She will also be more careful with the paparazzi, how to deal with them gracefully and take care of her loved ones from them.I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did. It is beautiful story that allows you to fall in love through her eyes, when she finds that special someone who truly loves her and when they both choose each other. Another thing I love about the book is her parents because they are amazing. They are so caring and always there for her. I definitely recommend this series. By the time you finish, you will be very happy you started it. It is such a beautiful story about love and life. It is about knowing yourself, trying to be better and being truly happy in all aspects of life. My RATING for this book is 5 STARS. *****If you don’t like Young Adult/New Adult books, you should check out her previous series called Emi Lost and Found. It is one of my top favorite series and it is Contemporary Adult Romance. You should check them out and if it sounds like something you would enjoy, you should start with Emi and then continue with Choisie.*******SPOILERS ALERT**************SPOILERS ALERT*******If you haven't read it, stop reading this now. These are some of my favorite scenes and they have lots of spoilers. I want to mention them and I don’t want to spoil the story to anyone. - Livvy with Jack: Her relationship with her parents is in a great moment. She is finally very honest and they treat each other like adults. Her two talks with Jack about her biological father showed how much she loves them and how far she has come with their relationship.Jack once again shows how amazing he is. He gave Livvy great advice about Brazil and Jon, how she should involve Jon from the beginning and that they should discuss this decision together.- Livvy with Emi: I love Emi, my favorite character from "Emi Lost and Found Series" and a great scene with her was when she came up to check on Livvy when Jon showed up. She was very understanding and was not making too many questions because she only wanted to make sure Livvy was alright.- Livvy with Jon: One of my favorite scenes with him was when he came back. He was there for her when she needed someone the most. They finally talked and I absolutely love the fact that he took his time on each theme for his apology.Another moment was the scene before the New Year's Party was beautiful. His words made me love him even more. The love scenes were very special too. They showed their love and passion. A great development in that aspect of their relationship with no more sneaking around and finally acting like adults about it.The proposal!!!! Wow! ♥ I wasn't specting that. I had a feeling about Brazil when he was talking to those men and when he seemed to be hiding something but he was happy about it. It was so sweet and romantic and it was funny that everyone was listening behind the door. I love everything he said and that it would not be so soon.- Livvy with Matty: Matty is such a funny and entertaining character. He can destressed an awkward situation and make you laugh or just make laugh at any time. He is a great uncle, I am glad he is happy with someone again and that he is very close to Livvy. Two scenes I love with him are when he almost ruin Livvy's surprise because he was very eager about it and when Livvy went to his apartament to ask for a drink after telling Jon about Brazil, he was hilarious.- About her biological dad, I was ok with Livvy's decision because she seemed content with what she found out. She might want to know more in the future, who knows, but she thinks what she knows is enough. I choose to believe her biological parents were in love but for whatever reason we don’t know, they got separated. The carving makes me think there is a romantic but bittersweet story there and despite the fact that they didn’t stay together, her father still keeps a good memory of her mother.- Brazil was a very relaxing time for them. The four of them were enjoying the place and giving each other the space they needed. I thought it was nice to see them having a good time and being happy.- The epilogue by Jack is a perfect example of Lori's beautiful writing. You can really appreciate everything on it and you get a glimpse into their future which all her readers would be wondering if we did not get one. I am so happy we could see Livvy and Jon older and in a very different phase in their lives. I would have never guessed they would go back to Brazil and stay there for a couple of years. I love that they accomplished so much in their careers and they could enjoy life together before getting married and starting a family. The surprise of the wedding, the baby and going back to New York was so sweet. I absolutely love everything about the epilogue. ♥
