Books like Hug a Tree, Geronimo

My granddaughters enjoy the Geronimo Stilton series so I decided to read a few. In this offering, Geronimo buys a farm and then learns another area with a huge oak tree is up for auction. He and his buddies pool their resources to save the tree.The story is cute and clever as well as informative. The concepts of auctions and auctioneers are explained in easy-to-understand terms and the importance of saving trees and farm land is well presented. I enjoyed reading this book. Parts of the text are presented in different colors, the illustrations are detailed and clever, and the story lines were interesting. Great books for 1-3 graders, but I don't think this one would lend itself to read aloud very well.
