Books like Dorrie and the Witch Doctor

Dorrie wakes up and decides to be extra good all day. Having got off to a good start, Dorrie hears that aunt Agra is coming to visit. I could sympathise with this situation, most of us have experienced a relative who is unfriendly and just can't wait to criticise. Poor Dorrie tries her hardest but the Aunt just can't be satisfied with anything. The visit makes Dorrie feel sick and then the witch doctor is called for.This was a lovely story with a very happy ending. The illustrations were beautiful, really fun to look at, as you read more Dorrie books you get to build up a picture of their house in your head. There is so much to look at in the illustrations and I love the way they just use one or two colours with black and white. This book used lime green and turquoise which worked really well.Read on openlibrary
