A Little SPOT of Responsibility: A Story About Making Good Choices
My son is 7. He has some behavior issues, and he tends to be pretty defiant. Lately we've been working really hard on it, and of all of the books we've read on the subject, these books this series have been the most impactful. When we read a little scribble spot, he wanted to scribble his emotions. He's actually mentioned some of the ideas in the books which has allowed him to better process and identify what's happening with him. They just seem to click as far as how he's feeling and how he knows he should respond. But this one, this one is the one that blew me away. He had a bad day about a week ago, and we read this book a little later, and he told his teachers that he was going to start being responsible because of this book. I could tell he meant it, and I can tell that the way that the book is presented was exactly what he needed to hear. Honestly, when reading it to him, I thought it might be a little over his head, because it covers a lot of different kinds of responsibility very deeply. But, it obviously made a big impact, and I'm noticed that he's keeping his promise so far. we have read most of the books in the series, and the ones that we read most often are a little scribble spot (most requested), a little spot of anger, a little spot of kindness, a little spot of anxiety, and a little spot of sadness. My daughter also loved never let a unicorn scribble..
