Bridget eagerly accepts and travels to Cornwall to hopefully get a better idea of what Nicole wanted in a sequel by looking through her notes and to meet her widow, Charlie.What I loved most about this book was how Toon was able to perfectly balance such hard-hitting emotion and humour. Bridget was a fantastic main character, you got to see her visit some truly terrible ex-boyfriends, struggle with the pressure of trying to give the book millions of readers expect and build a relationship with grief-stricken Charlie.The romance was my favourite part of the book, watching Bridget and Charlie slowly build a friendship and then a relationship was just beautiful. I laughed when Bridget finally made Charlie smile, I cried when Charlie cried, I honestly went on a little bit of a emotion roller-coaster. I completely devoured this book in two sittings and read it with a smile from ear to ear.The Last Piece of My Heart is a gorgeous book filled with love, loss and hope.
