Books like The Destroyer Book 3

THE DESTROYER series by Michael Scott Earle is one of the "comfort" foods for indie readers on Amazon.com. It's a series about an invincible badass warrior who was imprisoned in the ground for millennia and has been awoken to go on a rampage against an evil army of elves. At first. Gradually, the series has made it clear he's less invincible than he thought and the elves aren't quite the Nazi-esque race the reader was led to believe. It's a series which has the same appeal as a James Bond novel where the protagonist will get laid a lot and kill a bunch of things.I vacillated between giving this 3 or 4 stars but ultimately settled on 4 because I enjoyed the central premise--which is the fact we're exposed to the fact the elves aren't as bad as we were led to believe. We also find out the O'Baari race have survived to the present time and show a serious threat to our protagonist since he has the same powers they do. They're also a bunch of jackasses who are determined to kill "The Pretender" for calling himself Kaiyer.If you've enjoyed the previous volumes then you're going to enjoy this but the plot is starting to drag a bit and I'm hoping we'll get to a climax soon. I will say the ending was one of the best I've read in fantasy in a long time.7/10
