Books like The Bobiverse

A fantastic premise with so much promise and so many ideas to explore. While it starts strong, the story gets bogged down fizzles out. I love how Bob wakes up one day and figures out what the hell happened to him and what he does with that knowledge. The world the author creates is on par with the best science fiction authors. What disappointed me was the half hearted exploration of what happens when an artificial intelligence reproduces. As much as I liked the stories about how Bob deals with different situations in different locations (avoiding spoilers here), the author crammed them into just a few generations. Bob is immortal, for all intents and purposes, and these stories could have (should have) taken thousands of years. This could have been on par with "The Forever War" in its exploration, but just didn't rise to the occasion. Still, an enjoyable read.
