Study Smarter, Not Harder
The rating you give this book, I feel , will depend on the audience. In my opinion, this book is geared towards high school and college level students. I give it a 4 star as I found the focus leaning heavily towards on the "meta" aspect of studying (how the brain works, preparation techniques such as relaxation) as opposed to the actual practice of actively reading and note-taking (no mention of SQ3R or Cornell notes). With regards to speed reading, I do appreciate the author's no BS way of calling it out and maintaining a strong stance. The tips at the end of the book provide a good summary of how to prepare and handle tests/exams. In summary, it's a good book, but if you're looking to learn more about this subject, I'd pick up a few more related titles.
