Books like Ricky Ricotta's Giant Robot

My rating = 2 stars.My boys' rating = 5 stars, yeah!!!Therefore, a composite rating of 3.5 stars.I honestly thought this was kinda dumb, but it went over very well with my three year old. He's in that developmental place between picture books and chapter books, so I've been on the lookout for selections that will help bridge the gap for him. This series came up in a recent search. I thought I would give it a try. I would like to believe that there are some simple, yet beautifully written chapter books out there for little guys that might be a bit more satisfying for the adult reading aloud. This pulled off "simple" but not "beautiful." I welcome any suggestions from the GR community.
