Malcolm X: By Any Means Necessary
This book fascinated me. I had not read much about Malcolm X before. I am impressed by his intelligence and passion. I found it so sad that his teacher crushed his dreams. When he was about 13 his teacher told him he would not be able to become a lawyer because he was black. That is one of the saddest things to read about. That moment changed his life. He realized that the world was not fair and that people treat him differently because of his skin. I am sure he understood that before, but it seemed like that moment was when it clicked for him.I was happy that he found Islam as a way to bring some peace to his life and make such a positive impact on the world around him. It was tragic that he was killed. It makes you wonder what more he could have accomplished if he had lived longer. After reading this book, I want to do more to combat racism and discrimination. I need to stick up for any group of people being oppressed. I feel like there should be more that I can do.
