Love, Nina: Despatches from Family Life

2013Nina Stibbe

1.6/5

This is a really lightweight read of the author's sweetly funny letters to her sister whilst she was employed as a nanny and working up to a degree in English. That's one way of looking at it.Another way is that this is a collection of mildly amusing, somewhat boring letters about from a nonedescript nanny namedropping some media celeb names. "Lightweight" is politesse forthe book has no depth at all. It is a fast read because there's nothing much to make you think. Not much to hold your attention either.I'm giving it two stars because it really isn't a bad book even though it in no way approaches being good, and because it was mildly amusing. (view spoiler)[Amusing enough to distract me from waiting for the tow truck to come after the wheel came of my jeep this morning anyway. Not amusing enough to take away the sting of $550 (so far) repairs. (hide spoiler)]
