4.2/5

This book was a lot better than I'd expected. I heard about it on the morning host show, "Nyhetsmorgon" and thought I had to read it. Then I found out it was aimed towards young adults and was a bit put off. While it is an YA book, it's more suitable for older teens and even adults. It deals with lots of heavy stuff, there's alcohol, and mentions of sex and drugs. The book's stronger sides is definitely with the characters and emotions. This book triggered my anxiety A LOT. Just knowing the world would end in a month gave me panic and I kept thinking about what if it was actual reality. What would we have done, had we known we only had a month left to live?Plotwise the book was a bit weaker. We see how people deal with the inevitable death. Teenagers who party every night. Football (bc not even at the face of end of the world can you cancel football), watching porn, and a pregnant woman, Emma, who plans the life for her unborn child. Emma might have been one of the strongest characters in the book, in how she was able to stay so positive and planning for her child even though she knew she would never see it being born. But apart from this, there wasn't really much to the plot. A person is found death, presumably murdered and one of the MC gets blamed for it. He and the other MC is trying to get his name cleaned and finding out what really happened. Will definitely check out Strandberg's other works.
