Books like Invasion of the Body Squeezers Part 1

Invasion of the Body Squeezers Part 1 is the story of the tragic breakdown of a 12 year old boy. Jack "Saucerman" Archer is a troubled child who suspects his neighbor of being a monster. His fixation on an unidentified meteor in orbit and fear of a new neighbor combine into a complex paranoid fantasy about an alien invasion. As his hallucinations become more intense, his family abandons him and his friends actively torment him.Unfortunately, the alien invasion is real. This is the first part of the Goosebumps adaptation of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. This half is the tension building portion of the story. I honestly think it is more interesting and fun than the original. I like Jack more than Miles. He feels more isolated and fearful than Miles every did. I think it is worth a read, as long as you read the second part too.
