The Black Magician trilogy is a fantasy novel series written by Australian author Trudi Canavan. Carol Berg is the author of several fantasy novels, including the books from the Rai-Kirah series, Song of the Beast, the books from The Bridge of D'Arnath series, and the Lighthouse novels. In January 2010, she introduced a new series with the release of The Spirit Lens: A Novel of the Collegia Magica.
Berg holds a degree in mathematics from Rice University, and a degree in computer science from the University of Colorado. Before writing full-time, she designed software. She lives in Colorado, and is the mother of three boys.

Choć stwierdzenie, że jest to „tylko” fantastyka byłoby trochę nieuczciwe, nazwałbym to powieścią historyczną (1420-36) z elementami fikcji (taki historyczny magiczny realizm). Każda z części posiada niesamowity scholastyczny, średniowieczny klimat, w którym bardzo subtelnie zaimplementowane są ponadnaturalne zjawiska (wcale nie boskie). Spotykamy tam także Gutenberga (szukającego sponsorów), Mikołaja Kopernika (dość mocno bojącego się inkwizycji), rozwiązłego Mikołaja z Kuzy. Cała opowieść przeplatana jest cytatami z Augustyna, Tomasza z Akwinu i innych dzieł czytywanych w tamtych czasach z ogromną ilością sformułowań w łacinie klasycznej. Pomimo tego jednak książka nie jest bardzo wymagająca intelektualnie, co w połączeniu z wszystkimi wymienionymi przeze mnie rzeczami jest ogromnym atutem i mistrzostwem autora. Opowieść z jednej strony diabelnie zabawna (w szczególności postać cynika Szarleja i jego egzorcyzmów) z drugiej brutalna i porażająca swoją melancholią. Bohaterowie są rewelacyjnie skonstruowani: Pomurnik, Szarlej, Samson, Reinmar von Bielau. Balansowanie pomiędzy radością i swawolą a makabrycznymi zdarzeniami wraz z silnymi emocjonalnie wątkami w niej zawartymi wychodzi wręcz doskonale. Pewien klimat tego, czym jest władza kościelna wraz z całą hierarchią i rozważaniami teologicznymi, wojnami, najazdami został tutaj istotowo uchwycony. Trylogia Husycka to po prostu mistrzostwo.

Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! is a puzzle video game developed by SFB Games and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. The game was released worldwide as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch on March 3, 2017. The game makes use of a snipping mechanic to allow players to cooperate and solve shape and physics-based puzzles. An expanded version, titled Snipperclips Plus, was released on November 10, 2017.
Snipperclips is a co-operative puzzle game for up to four players. In the main World mode for one or two players, players control two characters named Snip and Clip, who each possess shaped bodies that can be rotated in place. When the two characters overlap each other, one player can snip the overlapped portion out of the other player, altering the shape of their body. Using this mechanic, players must come up with creative ways to solve various puzzles, each with unique objectives. Objectives include fitting inside a shape template, carrying objects such as a basketball or pencil to a specific area, or cutting out a pointed end in order to pop balloons. Additionally, up to four players can play the game's Party and Blitz modes. Grounded is a survival video game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. It was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One in early access in July 2020. It was fully released on September 27, 2022.Grounded is a survival game that can be played either in first-person or a third-person. In the game, the protagonist is shrunk to the size of an ant and must strive to survive in a backyard. In the game, the player character (Max, Willow, Pete or Hoops) needs to consume an adequate amount of food and water, or they will lose health due to starvation or dehydration respectively. The backyard is filled with various bugs and insects, such as spiders, bees, dust mites, and ladybugs. The specific microfauna featured in the game suggests the setting to be somewhere in North America as the majority of species featured may be readily found there, although a few (such as the Orchid Mantis) are not native but could reasonably be considered invasive. Different insects serve different purposes in the game. For instance, spiders are one of the game's apex predators that will hunt down the players, ladybugs can lead players to food sources, and aphids can be cooked and consumed for food. Players can also cut down grass to collect dewdrops. The game has an accessibility option for players who have arachnophobia, which allows players to decide how scary spiders are going to be in the game.

Far: Changing Tides (stylized as FAR: Changing Tides) is a 2022 adventure puzzle video game developed by Okomotive and published by Frontier Foundry. The game is the successor to Far: Lone Sails (2018), and it was released for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S in March 2022.Similar to Lone Sails, Changing Tides is a side-scrolling adventure video game in which the player assumes control of an unnamed driver of a large boat as they explore a post-apocalyptic world. While the game does not feature any combat scenario, the player character must drive the boat and manage its sail, solve environmental puzzles, and gather resources. As the player progresses, the ship will be upgraded to include a steam engine, and the player must keep the ship powered by burning fuel, and prevent the engine from overheating by spraying water on it. Eventually, the ship will turn into a submarine which opens up new paths for players to navigate the world. The game does not have a failed state, though some decisions made by players may damage the ship or cause the ship to lose momentum. Players may also need to repair the ships using the resources they have discovered in the game's world. The player may also occasionally need to leave the ship and solve simple environmental puzzles in order to remove obstacles that are blocking the boat.
