Me gustó esta versión de una comedia romántica de Punpun. Aunque es un poco en chiste, me pareció re interesante la forma en la que Asano usa una historia típica de comedia romántica (los personajes que son amigos pero parece que podrían ser algo más) para enmarcar una historia que en realidad va en contra de muchos de los clichés del género, con personajes que tienen reacciones auténticas, que dicen lo que piensan, que resuelven confusiones de forma humana (por ejemplo, cuando Sachi busca a Punpun en su casa después de que la deja plantada en la estación), entre otras cositas.Obviamente que esto es una simplificación, porque este manga en general tiene distintos niveles de interpretación, pero ese aspecto me gustó mucho y me hizo reir a pesar de que el manga en general conserva su esencia de niño emo. Un buen tomo, que contrasta mucho con el anterior.

4 starsI've been debating on what to rate this for quite a while now, and I think I've settled on four for now, as this volume connected with me more than the pre-death volumes but didn't make me want to continue as strongly as the others. This volume portrays a very realistic view of depression, and it seeps into you the longer you read this manga. It's as though every single plot point is designed for maximum misery, and I love it. There's not a ton going on, but the visuals are as stunning as ever, and that nothingness really helps you see Punpun's world, so I was left to decide which of those outweighs the other. Ultimately, I've decided on four stars, but if that changes soon, I'll let you know.

Entiendo que esta historia no es para todo el mundo. Entiendo que la acusen de reiterativa y circular. Pero entiéndanme a mí. No sé cómo explicarlo, pero me veo arrastrado por la más absoluta devoción hacia estos personajes. El flashback de Yui'chi es absolutamente demoledor y maravilloso. Da miedo y da nauseas. Y justifica las acciones del personaje de un modo inequívoco. La historia de Aiko y Yamaguchi también ha dado lo mejor de sí. Esa búsqueda de aquellos que nos necesitan por encima de aquellos que nos quieren sin necesitarnos. Todos sabemos cuál de las dos es la definición de una relación sana, pero todos sabemos la capacidad de arrastre de un agujero negro. Todos sabemos hacia dónde se dirige la luz aún sabiendo que no se llama "agujero negro" por casualidad. Voy a seguir leyendo a Punpun, pero voy a respirar un poco. Voy a darme una tregua. Voy a resistir la tentación de empezar el quinto volumen sin haber digerido por completo todo lo que este número 4 ha dado de sí.

Solo voy a decir que hay mucha dependencia por aquí y me huele a abuso puro y duro. El tío Yuuichi es todo un caso y Punpun es la cosa más tierna e inocente del mundo. Creo que voy a valorarlo ahora porque las cosas se pondrán tesas más adelante, lo sé. Y está claro que el tema ronda principalmente en el hecho de la soledad y qué es la felicidad exactamente para cada uno de los distintos personajes.Me gustó este volumen porque se va alejando un poco más de Punpun para profundizar en otros personajes. En este caso tocó el tío Yuuichi que no me cae especialmente bien pero, acepto que el autor no se escatima a la hora de crear personajes con una buena escala de grises. Le va dando sentido a aquella personalidad criticona, amargada y a la vez reprimida del tío; conectando hechos importantes que te ayuda a unir detalles que ya se han visto.

Wow. What a rollercoaster of emotion. I finished this yesterday and Punpun always leaves me a big ball of sad. I feel a combination of "this series is too fucking brilliant" and "it's not that deep, man, pipe the fuck down."I've never felt so conflicted over literally every character in a book. It's so funny to me that characters are illustrated as caricatures of people but with every page they become more and more multifaceted. I do appreciate that recurring side characters always show up with the same posture, the same cartoonish expressions, which makes them much easier to identify as they grow older. I really love this series so far.

I don't recall reading another fictional series that has changed so much like "Berserk". It started in the eighties as a savage, brooding, dark as hell (quite literally) story that for many defined how gruesome this genre could be. These days the series deals with most of the characters we are familiar with (those that have survived), but they involved with hijinks that fall into the high fantasy genre. This is now a story about adventurers sailing to the land of elves so the "king" of that land can help them navigate through the dreams of a cursed person to recover her memories. It used to be about literally battling demons to save your loved ones from being raped and devoured, or meeting a nice family only for them to get raped, dismembered and mounted on spikes by a monstruous pursuing army, or rescuing naked female villagers from a nasty cave in which far nastier trolls rape them repeatedly so the women will give birth explosively to a new brood of trolls. These days the author draws some gruesome foes almost because he should, instead of because the mood of the story demands it. In the middle of it all, our protagonist Guts, a big, brooding swordsman who when he gets into his berserker state he can't tell friend from foe, is now like an anachronism: the lost and obsolete survivor of a bygone era.The author clearly loves his characters. He's been with them for decades, and at this point they are almost his children. Unfortunately you can no longer believe that the threats they face are really serious. Guts' posse includes a child and two teenagers who never get harmed in any significant way although the group faces nasty opponents. "Berserk" at this point is not so much a dramatic series but a way to hang out with characters you are fond of. I'm not mad about it: I'll keep reading. But it's quite clear for me that the series will end with the author's death. Are we really to believe that Guts is in any position to (view spoiler)[stop Griffith? And why, despite Griffith's "number one anime betrayal" in the turning point of this series? If Guts somehow manages to destroy Griffith, there goes the last hope for humanity to survive in a world that has turned upside down. And it doesn't seem that our protagonist wants to bother (hide spoiler)]
