Tamasha is about the journey of someone who has lost his edge in trying to follow acceptable conventions of society. The film is based on the central theme of abrasion and loss of self that happens in an attempt to find oneself.

The story revolves around Vicky's three love stories. The first story is in the age of schooling. When Vicky is in 10 Grade he falls in love with Suma(Anupama Parameshwaran). But he was afraid to reciprocate his love because her father (30 years Prithvi) beats anyone who proposes to his daughter. But the time he reciprocated his love she tells that she is already in love with another guy. The second story is in college. Vicky and his gang became in college. On one fine day, he comes across Sithara (Shruthi Hassan) a Marathi Math Lecturer. Vicky falls in love with her and they start getting friendly and unknowingly Sithara also falls in love with Vicky. But unfortunately while going to Pune she meets with an accident and loses her memory. So the second love story ends. The third story is when he is a young man. After 10 years, Vicky becomes a chef and opens a restaurant which becomes famous. At that time he comes across Sindhu(Madonna Sebastian) and falls in love with her. When Vicky proposed his love to Sindhu she rejected him as she was going to marry another man. But unfortunately her marriage gets called off because of his attitude. So she started loving Vicky and soon they married. Hence the movie ends with a happy note.

Tessa is a graphic artist with a sensitive outlook towards life. The film depicts the love story of Charlie and Tessa, and how their love influences the lives of the people around them.

Mankatha is a racy and adrenaline-rushing story of a Maharashtra police officer Vinayak Mahadevan (Ajith) who is suspended for helping a smuggler to escape from police encounter. He starts leading life in his own way. He falls for Sanjana (Trisha), daughter of an influential local goon Arumuga Chettiyar (Jayaprakash) in Mumbai. A tough cop Prithvi (Arjun) takes charge to end betting scandal in IPL cricket in Mumbai. Arumuga uses his links with dons in Mumbai tries to route through his old theatre, a cash of over Rs 500 crore to be used in betting. Sumanth (Vaibhav), a goon working for Arumuga Chettiyarplans to take away the booty with the help of his friends Ganesh (Ashwin), Mahanth (Mahanth), who owns a bar in Mumbai and Prem (Premji), a IIT graduate. Vinayak joins the race. he promises to help them and divide it between them. Trouble starts after they take away the cash. Both Arumugha Chettiyar and police are now on their heels. Meanwhile, Mahanth and Prem escape with the cash. It all upto Vinayak now. The battle shifts between him and Prithvi.

In 2008, J. B. Bernstein is a sports agent who finds his business being seriously outplayed by his deep-pocketed competitors. Inspired by reality shows and Indian cricket games on TV, Bernstein gets the bold idea of finding cricket players in India and training them to become pro baseball players in America. After a long search, Bernstein finds two talented, but non-cricket playing, youths, Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel. Together, Berthstein takes his prospects to Los Angeles where they find mastering a new sport in a foreign land a daunting challenge. As these boys struggle amid an alien culture, Bernstein must find a way to make their dream come true. In doing, Bernstein finds a deeper humanity to his work with growing friendships he never expected to have.

The family of talented cook, Hassan Kadam (Manish Dayal), has a life filled with both culinary delights and profound loss. Drifting through Europe after fleeing political violence in India that killed the family restaurant business and their mother, the Kadams arrive in France. Once there, a chance auto accident and the kindness of a young woman, Marguerite (Charlotte Le Bon), in the village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val inspires Papa Kadam (Om Puri) to set up a Indian restaurant there. Unfortunately, this puts the Kadams in direct competition with the snobbish Madame Mallory's acclaimed haute cuisine establishment across the street where Marguerite also works as a sous-chef. The resulting rivalry eventually escalates in personal intensity until it goes too far. In response, there is a bridging of sides initiated by Hassan, Marguerite, and Madame Mallory (Dame Helen Mirren), both professional and personal, that encourages an understanding that will change both sides forever.

The film begins when Vasudeva Shenoy (Anoop Menon), a police constable by profession, proposes to his colleague Lakshmi (Lena) with a strong objection from Vasudeva Shenoy's mother. In the meantime Kunjunni Menon (Santhosh Keezhattoor), a thief, who disguised as a police inspector, falls in love with Lakshmi. Kunjunni Menon then convinces Lakshmi and her family to agree to marriage. Lakshmi later comes to know that her husband had cheated her. Lakshmi and Kunjunni however pretend to have an amicable marriage as she gives birth to Adithyan (Dulquer Salmaan). On the same day Vikraman (Unni Mukundan) was also born to Vasudeva Shenoy and his new wife. Laksmi further gives birth to two daughters. Kunjunni gets caught by Shenoy after committing a theft and was dragged to the jeep in front of his son (Adityan). Adithyan becomes very depressed and refuses to accept his father. Kunjunni unable to face his son, commits suicide. Adityan (Dulquer Salmaan), Vikraman (Unni Mukundan) and Deepika Pai(Namitha Pramod) befriend each other as schoolmates and the story proceeds to their adulthood. Faced with many hardships, Adithyan transforms into an intelligent man. He falls in love with Deepika and she reciprocates his feelings. In a string of events, Adithyan and Vikraman are in a competition for the SI (police) selections. Shenoy frames Adithyan with a crime he didn't commit, forcing Adithyan out of the SI selections. Adithyan runs away and returns many years later. With the help of Lokesh IAS (Nivin Pauly), Adithyan becomes an IPS officer and the new Assistant Commissioner of Police of Kochi, Kerala. Vikraman takes charge as an SI and Deepika unites with Adithyan. The film ends with Adithyan and his family standing up against the people that once teased him as the "thief's son".

A beautiful Love story where a guy named Balan( Dulquer Salmaan) has a break up with his girl friend and there break up some how becomes viral on social media. As he was trying to over come the stress of break up he meets Sheela(Nithya Menen) in a Taxi, But in a rush she drops her old digital camera which Balan picks up and tries to return to her with a help of his friend Ummer. Finally when he finds her, She (Sheela) tells him that she is his (Balaan) school mate with whom he had a huge fight. Balaan gets over the past and invites her to a new year eve dinner and returns the camera to her. She explains why this camera is so important to her and she is making a 25th anniversary surprise for her parents in which Balaan also helps. Balaan find out sheela is with a boyfriend named Rahul and she get engaged with Rahul. Eventually Balaan convinced her(Sheela) that she believes in love and to choose him over Rahul. Sheela falls in love with Balan at the end and gets married with him. Though the story is nothing new but the direction, songs, story telling and cinematography amazes the viewers and keeps them attached to the end.
