Before. Miles “Pudge” Halter is done with his safe life at home. He heads off to the sometimes crazy and anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska Young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young. She is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart. Then. . . . After. Nothing is ever the same.

Another great addition to the Zim-verse, especially the time travel story (wow, Zim has had two time travel stories (three if you count the episode where Dib thinks he won) and both were great, though I think Piggies might have the edge over this one, but it's CLOSE). Other than that, this collection checked all the boxes of great Zim stories: Dib being tormented for no good reason, Gir being Gir (TUNA-CAT!), Gaz being Gaz (and having to restrain herself from killing her brother), a story about Ms. Bitters, and Zim's insanity at full throttle. Not only is it an enjoyable volume in and of itself, but the great thing about these comic books is that thanks to their success it appears that Nickelodeon is bringing back Zim for a made-for-TV movie! AWESOME! (I'm sure recap kid is losing it right now)

I'M NOT CRYING! YOU'RE CRYING!!!After several weeks of flipping through the Journal and rereading it, I think I can finally gather my thoughts enough to actually write something for this review.To begin, I suppose that I should note the Journal is best enjoyed by people who have finished watching Gravity Falls. Opus is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Satoshi Kon. The story is about a manga artist who is pulled into the world of the manga he is concluding and forced to confront his characters. The manga was serialized in the manga magazine Comic Guys from October 1995 until the magazine's cancellation in June 1996. It was collected into two volumes by Tokuma Shoten on December 13, 2010 and included a missing ending found after Kon's death. Dark Horse Comics licensed the manga in North America and released it in an omnibus edition on December 9, 2014. The French edition of the manga won the 2013 Asia Critics Prize from the Association des Critiques et des journalistes de Bande Dessinée and was nominated for the Sélection Officiele at the 2014 Angoulême International Comics Festival. I am not feeling much better about this second one. The first two arcs, I thought, were alright. They even seemed to have something interesting to say. Then we got to the diarrhea. Yeah. I didn't need that. Nor many of the things that followed it. There was one more arc that I thought was interesting, but again ... with so much shit (pun TOTALLY intended) I can't imagine that the glimmerings I got from those arcs were purposeful. I have to step back for a moment, because I can't say these comics are "bad." They are definitely not my taste. To me, the humor seems very haphazard. There is no reason for any of the events happening in the story. I dunno ... five more issues left. Let's see what insanity awaits. The Gregory Brothers are an American musical quartet, specializing in comedy music and pitch correction through their YouTube channel Schmoyoho (), who have characterized their music as "Country & Soul, Folk & Roll".They are best known for their creation of musical viral videos, most notably the "Winning" song that won a 2012 Comedy Award, their Songify the News series (formerly known as Auto-Tune the News), and the "Bed Intruder Song" that received over 141 million YouTube views and entered the Billboard Hot 100.
