It seems like this took an especially long time to read (an average of under 7 pages per day), for such a comparatively short book (not quite 170 pages, and most of those pages in four-line stanzas with lots of blank page-space), but this is among the many works on my list of "things to go back and read, or read again, that I didn't read, or didn't read as closely as I'd have liked, even though I was supposed to, back in college or whenever." So, I was spending a lot of time on it. Sure, I coulda torn through it in a day, but I was interested in really absorbing the material, not only because as scripture it lends itself to a denser (if sometimes more arcane) read, but because some of the tenets expressed within are really valuable. I intend to keep a copy of the GITA in my car from now on (along with the TAO TE CHING, which I'll go back and read through start to finish sometime soon), you know, in case I need a little inspiration or even just SOMETHING to read at some point (in traffic, doctor's office, waiting for people to meet me, on a road trip, et cetera). Gotta love that GITA!

Also to her amazement, she kind of wants to date him, the entire ritual of being the one person in another person's life a foreign concept to her. The road to a happy ending for the two is not guaranteed as their very different sexual histories and very different perspectives on sexual life may make them incompatible despite truly liking each other as people. Ensuring that his man Aaron is happy and doesn't get hurt in the process is someone who seems to take Aaron's personal life even more to heart than he does:

Paris, je t'aime is about the plurality of cinema in one mythic location: Paris, the City of Love. Twenty filmmakers have five minutes each; the audience must weave a single narrative out of twenty moments. The 20 moments are fused by transitional interstitial sequences and also via the introduction and epilogue. Each transition begins with the last shot of the previous film and ends with the first shot of the following film, extending the enchantment and the emotion of the previous segment, preparing the audience for a surprise, and providing a cohesive atmosphere. There's a reappearing mysterious character who is a witness to the Parisian life. A common theme of Paris and love fuses all.

Others looking at the situation from the outside believe Mark is jealous of Juliet, as he is in love with Peter. The question becomes not only if they can communicate their day-to-day needs with each other as she speaks no English, he speaks no Portuguese, and neither speaks French very well, but communicate what seems to be their increasing mutual attraction to each other. Sarah (Laura Linney) has been in love with her co-worker Karl (Rodrigo Santoro) for the two years they have worked together, this attraction about which everyone in their workplace knows. Sarah has to decide if she can be forward enough to express this love directly to Karl, especially in light of what has been her personal priority of dealing with a family issue.
