A book from one of my favorite series... I loved reading these back when I was in my first teenage years, and I still do! I think sometimes I just need to read some of these books, it feels like going back home, so warm and lovely... No, I’ll never be too old for these.

Memang sepanjang aku membaca Deltora, aku agak kesulitan membayangkan beberapa wujud monsternya (kecuali yang memang sudah digambarkan di kover depan maupun belakang). Sering aku mikir kenapa sih kok nggak dilengkapi ilustrasinya sekalian? Ternyata ilustrasi para monster itu dirapel dan disuguhkan semua di sini.Bersyukur ternyata buku ini ada di www.openlibrary.org, meski saat meminjamnya aku sempat harus antri segala. Untung antrinya nggak lama.***Buku ini ceritanya ditulis oleh Joseph, pustakawan istana yang kabur dan menyamarkan kematiannya setelah disuruh Prandine memusnahkan catatan sejarah Deltora: Deltora Annals. Joseph merasa perintah itu nggak beres, kenapa harus menghancurkan catatan sejarah Deltora? Maka ia pun memutuskan untuk kabur dari istana dan membawa Deltora Annals bersamanya setelah memalsukan kematiannya dengan membakar ruang penyimpanan tempat ia "membakar" catatan itu. Sebelum kabur ia meninggalkan pesan palsu yang menyatakan bahwa ia ingin mati bersama Deltora Annals.Ia kemudian kabur dan menulis ulang The Annals dengan ditambahi catatan yang ia buat selama berkelana menjelajahi Deltora sambil berlindung di tempat pembuatan tembikar di Del atas saran seorang pedaganh bernama Steven. Jika sudah membaca semua buku Deltora Quest di season 1 mulai Forest of Silence sampai Return to Del, maka akan lebih nyambung dengan para monster yang dideskripsikan di sini.Gorl dari Forest of Silence, rupanya adalah ksatria Jalis. Dua saudara laki-lakinya yang ia bunuh pun memiliki nama dengan awalan huruf G. Mungkin itu tradisi penamaan di Jalis. Sayang sekali suku itu sudah punah dan hanya menyisakan Glock.Penyihir Thaegan rupanya memiliki seorang ibu penyihir putih yang dicintai masyarakat karena kemampuannya membuat ramuan cinta dan melakukan sihir pengobatan. Sungguh ironis. Thaegan sejak muda sudah sangat cantik, namun juga kejam. Sihir putih membuatnya bosan maka ia pun beralih pada sihir kegelapan untuk memuaskan hasratnya akan kekuatan. Ibunya bisa berubah wujud menjadi burung gagak. Karena itulah Thaegan suka menyantap gagak karena teringat pada ibunya.Ilustrasi paling menggiriskan hati di sini adalah ilustrasi anak-anak Thaegan. Joseph mendapatkan informasi ini dari seorang pengelana yang berhasil lolos saat hampir disantap oleh mereka. Ia berkata dua rekan seperjalanannya sudah dipanggang dan dimakan hidup-hidup. Kondisi fisik dan mentalnya sangat memprihatinkan. Dari cerita si pengelana, Joseph bisa mendeskripsikan anak-anak Thaegan dan menggambarnya. Hoeks banget dah ilustrasinya. Nightmare!Ilustrasi Gellick, kodok raksasa beracun di Gunung Kengerian, mengingatkanku pada Jabba The Hut-nya Star Wars. Sedangkan ilustrasi Vraal mengingatkanku pada desain alien ganas di film Alien.Yang paling mencengangkan buatku adalah informasi soal Naga Deltora dan burung ak-baba. Ternyata ak-baba bisa mengalahkan Naga Deltora bahkan jadi salah satu penyebab mereka terancam punah, loh! Lima sampai tujuh ak-baba biasanya keroyokan dan mengalahkan naga. Segede apa burung ini? Di Deltora Season 1 mereka hanya berperan sebagai mata-mata. Jadi aku nggak nyangka mereka bisa sekuat itu.Nantinya Josef dan muridnya, Ranesh akan muncul di buku pertama season 2, Cavern of Fear untuk mengantarkan Deltora Annals pada Lief. Membaca buku ini sebelum memulai season 2nya terasa dapat pembekalan. Namun, tampaknya tak semua makhluk Deltora dijabarkan di sini. Pada Cavern of Fear ada monster bernama Granous dan itu nggak diceritakan di sini. Sayangnya ilustrasi Kin juga nggak disertakan, padahal muddlet aja dibahas. Apa bakal ada buku ilustrasi world of Deltora yang lain?

On the day that Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans, elderly Daisy Williams (nee Fuller) is on her deathbed in a New Orleans hospital. At her side is her adult daughter, Caroline. Daisy asks Caroline to read to her aloud the diary of Daisy's lifelong friend, Benjamin Button. Benjamin's diary recounts his entire extraordinary life, the primary unusual aspect of which was his aging backwards, being diagnosed with several aging diseases at birth and thus given little chance of survival, but who does survive and gets younger with time. Abandoned by his biological father, Thomas Button, after Benjamin's biological mother died in childbirth, Benjamin was raised by Queenie, a black woman and caregiver at a seniors home. Daisy's grandmother was a resident at that home, which is where she first met Benjamin. Although initially reluctant to do it because of the difficulty, Theo is able to grant Julian this favor, however with the change that he now needs to accompany Kee on her journey. As Theo and Kee progress on that journey, Theo learns more and more about what's going on, including the reason that Kee needs to get to the coast, the fact that no one in the group knows if their end destination even exists, and that his and Kee's lives are in greater danger than he believed when they started the journey. But Theo's sole mission becomes to help Kee at any cost for the survival of the species.

Nicolas is a boy living on a remote island set in the future, or another planet - or is it a dream? His village consists of white-painted houses located above the sea with a volcanic rock and black sand coastline, populated by young women and boys all of a similar age to Nicolas. Whilst swimming, Nicolas makes a discovery in the ocean, which is shrugged off by his mother, who, like all the women in the town has tied-back hair, is pale and wears a simple thin beige dress. Nicolas is curious, thinks that he is being lied to and starts to explore his environment, witnessing some unsettling scenes. He then finds himself taken to a hospital-like building where he, along with the others, undergoes a series of medical procedures by the women, dressed as nurses. He is befriended by one nurse, who becomes instrumental in the film's denouement. The film is not easy to categorise; it is not only enigmatic but beautifully filmed with deeply poetic imagery. It reflects the fear of the unknown, experienced by a boy on the cusp of adolescence.

WALL-E rescues EVE from a dust storm and shows her a living plant he found amongst the rubble. Consistent with her "directive", EVE takes the plant and automatically enters a deactivated state except for a blinking green beacon. WALL-E, doesn't understand what has happened to his new friend, but, true to his love, he protects her from wind, rain, and lightning, even as she is unresponsive. One day a massive ship comes to reclaim EVE, but WALL-E, out of love or loneliness, hitches a ride on the outside of the ship to rescue EVE. The ship arrives back at a large space cruise ship, which is carrying all of the humans who evacuated Earth 700 years earlier. The people of Earth ride around this space resort on hovering chairs which give them a constant feed of TV and video chatting. They drink all of their meals through a straw out of laziness and/or bone loss, and are all so fat that they can barely move. When the auto-pilot computer, acting on hastily-given instructions sent many centuries before, tries to prevent the people of Earth from returning by stealing the plant, WALL-E, EVE, the portly captain, and a band of broken robots stage a mutiny.

She fled to Texas, met a young man, who, on the day of their wedding rehearsal was gunned down by an angry and jealous Bill (with the assistance of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad). Four years later, 'The Bride' wakes from a coma, and discovers her baby is gone. She, then, decides to seek revenge upon the five people who destroyed her life and killed her baby. The saga of Kill Bill Volume I begins.

This is the tale of Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), an ordinary eleven-year-old boy serving as a sort of slave for his aunt and uncle who learns that he is actually a wizard and has been invited to attend the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. Famous for an incident that happened at his birth, Harry makes friends easily at his new school. He soon finds, however, that the wizarding world is far more dangerous for him than he would have imagined, and he quickly learns that not all wizards are ones to be trusted.

2001 British-American fantasy film directed by Chris Columbus

Scott Pilgrim plays in a band which aspires to success. He dates Knives Chau, a high-school girl five years younger, and he hasn't recovered from being dumped by his former girlfriend, now a success with her own band. When Scott falls for Ramona Flowers, he has trouble breaking up with Knives and tries to romance Ramona. As if juggling two women wasn't enough, Ramona comes with baggage: seven ex-lovers, with each of whom Scott must do battle to the death in order to win Ramona.

In the distant past, a Japanese samurai (Phil LaMarr) embarks on a mission to defeat the evil shape-shifting wizard Aku (Mako and Greg Baldwin). Before he can complete his task, though, he is catapulted thousands of years into the future. He finds himself in a world where Aku now enjoys complete power over every living thing. Each 50 minute episode features a global overview of a different biome or habitat on Earth (Polar, Mountain, Cave, Desert, Plains, Fresh Water, Seas, Ocean, Forest), followed by a ten-minute featurette which takes a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of filming the episode.

This series is set in the fictional Beach City, where ageless alien warriors, the Crystal Gems, live in an ancient beachside temple, protecting the world from evil. They project female humanoid forms from magical gemstones that are the core of their being. The Crystal Gems are Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Steven, a young half-human, half-Gem boy who inherited his gemstone from his mother, the Gems' former leader Rose Quartz. As Steven tries to figure out his powers, he spends his days with his human father Greg, his friend Connie, other people in Beach City, or the other Gems, whether to help them save the world or just to hang out. He explores the abilities passed down to him by his mother, which include fusion (the ability of Gems to merge their identities and bodies to form a new and more powerful personality).

In a small town where everyone knows everyone, a peculiar incident starts a chain of events that leads to the disappearance of a child, which begins to tear at the fabric of an otherwise peaceful community. Dark government agencies and seemingly malevolent supernatural forces converge on the town, while a few of the locals begin to understand that there's more going on than meets the eye.

American science fiction horror Netflix series

Trailer Park Boys is about life between prison terms. Always trying to play the angles, always done-in by forces beyond their control, and always in the middle of a gunfight, Ricky and Julian are decent, hard- working guys trying to cope with the New World Economic Order. It's not that the boys don't know right from wrong, it's just that "right" rarely presents itself.
