I read this because it is on a list of books as summer reading for my students. I thought with the title and the cover it would be, at the very least, a music lesson of some kind. Not so much. The protagonist is graduating high school and is a leader in the Young Republicans on his campus. His best friend is a punk rock girl that is his total opposite. But she's all about loving everyone and not judging others, so she defends her Republican friend while he is more of a worm in this regard. The young man knows his biological father's name, but has never met him and his mother would rather forget the man that fathered her child. Blah, blah, blah. His father is a former legendary punk rock god. And guess what? The band is reforming and touring! And guess what else? The young man is going to be a roadie in an effort to get to know dad!This isn't a long book, but it felt like work. The characters are stereotypes and some of the side plots are too much. If this focused on the relationship between father and son, it would have been a more compelling story. It veered off into DNA tests, romance of the ugly duckling type, and a womanizing jerk. The final scene really is out of a movie and wasn't too believable, but after getting through the entire book, I was happy for something exciting to happen.

Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus is a novel written by the English author Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley that tells the story of a young science student Victor Frankenstein, who creates a grotesque but sentient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. Shelley started writing the story when she was 18, and the first edition of the novel was published anonymously in London in 1818, when she was 20. Shelley's name first appeared on the second edition, published in France in 1823.Shelley had travelled through Europe in 1814, journeying along the River Rhine in Germany with a stop in Gernsheim which is just 17 km (10 mi) away from Frankenstein Castle, where, two centuries before, an alchemist was engaged in experiments. After thinking for days, Shelley dreamt about a scientist who created life and was horrified by what he had made; her dream later evolved into the novel's story.

Socionic is an American, progressive, hard rock band formed in Los Angeles, California by singer and songwriter Michael Meinhart in 2008.The band was originally formed as a multi-media studio side project in 2008 by Michael Meinhart while he was performing with other bands around Los Angeles. Brian Robert Setzer (born April 10, 1959) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He found widespread success in the early 1980s with the 1950s-style rockabilly group Stray Cats, and revitalized his career in the early 1990s with his swing revival band, the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
Setzer was born April 1959 in Massapequa, New York. He started on the euphonium and played in jazz bands when he was in school. He found a way to hear jazz at the Village Vanguard, though as he got older he got interested in rock, punk, and rockabilly. He was a member of the Bloodless Pharaohs and the Tomcats, which he began with his brother, Gary. The Tomcats became the Stray Cats when double bassist Lee Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom joined. In 1980, thinking they might have more success in England than in America, they sold their instruments to pay for airplane tickets and flew to London.
