A simple and straightforward little story with humor to read before bedtime. I love this story.We meet this boy who tells us there used to be an alligator under his bed. We then see his routine of putting up a board so he can walk up this ramp and get safely in bed. That alligator is sneaky and his parents can’t see it. He then empties the kitchen to make a trail of food to the garage for the alligator to follow. It works.Mercer Mayer is an amazing talent. The artwork pops with color and the story is exciting on a beginning level.The nephew thought this book was exciting. He just knew the alligator was going to eat his parents or something. He thought the boy was smart too. If all the food in our house ends up on the floor leading out the door, we’ll know he took this literally. He liked the story and he gave this 4 stars. He also read it to me. He’s becoming such a good reader. I’m so proud.
