it's all about liking categories of things - trains, cars, dogs, boats and after all that, people. There is gentle poetry in this, and the story flows very smoothly and soothingly when read aloud. It's a good book to read to a young child at bed time. But what "makes" this short book are Garth Williams' charming and in places hilarious illustrations of trains, cars, dogs, etc. It's nearly impossible to capture in words how amazing they are.
