Strangers

2003Taichi Yamada

4.9/5

Strangers falls straight into the vein of many modern-day horror films, from 2005's Dark Water to 2012's Sinister, capturing perfectly the enigma of the supernatural in an urban environment. It did seem to have an inconsistent pace at times and start to get a bit repetitive, but I really liked it, anyway. I especially enjoyed the author's talent for capturing a good balance between drama and horror without getting particularly gory, obscene or morbid. It's a great book for fans of horror who like some lighter-sided stuff mixed into the spookiness of their books.
