Love at Fourteen, Vol. 1

4.8/5

Ah, this is a Josei. This explains the lack of manufactured drama, romantic or otherwise. So where to start with this book? This manga is a look back at first love through rose-colored glasses. No drama. No "does he, doesn't he?" Just sweet, fluffy, rose-colored glasses. This is the story of Tanaka and Kazuki. They like each other. They hang out. They're sort of going out. Their school personas get in the way of them being all lovey dovey in class. So far, the story is tooth achingly sweet and adorable. There's not much else too it. I don't think I can even call it a "rom com." It's not even all that "romantic" in the same way that shoujo or other josei I've read are. Like I said, it's like someone looking back at their first love with those rose-colored glasses. If you want a light read that will make you smile, I highly recommend this one.
