Little Critter picks out his own puppy before asking permission from his parents. He is lucky he got to keep it. That was always a decision my parents had to approve first as a kid. We see Little Critter taking care of the puppy, making a mess everywhere, but he’s doing his best. There is plenty of cute in this story. This has the same great artwork you expect from Mercer. It’s warm and fuzzy.The nephew loved this one. Our dog is rather wild, like my nephew and he sees the nephew as more of a pup and treats him that way. The nephew spent the puppy years pinching the fire out of the dog and the dog nips back, so it’s not the best relationship even though the nephew really loves the dog. He wants a dog that will mind him and be good to him. He gave this 4 stars.
